Graduation of second cycle EuMAS students took place in Madrid, July 14, 2008.
Three generations of EuMAS students met in Pisa on the weekend 14-16 March.
Two important news from the European Commission: 1) no more than 3 applications to different Erasmus Mundus courses from the same student, 2) number of Erasmus Mundus grants for 2008/9.
Admissions to EuMAS 2008 with the Erasmus Mundus grant are open until January 14, 2008, at 12:00 CET. To apply, download the application form and follow carefully the instructions.
On Sept. 27, the first cycle EuMAS students graduated in Toulouse. 23 students from 15 countries received their double degrees, awarded by Università di Pisa and ISAE-Supaero Toulouse. The ceremony took place at the town hall, Toulouse Capitole, at the presence of the local authorities and representatives of the European Space Agency.
From 12 to 26 August 2007 the Arctic Mars Analog Svalbard Expedition (AMASE) will take place. During AMASE payload instruments for future Mars missions will be tested in Svalbard (an area with volcanoes, hot springs and permafrost). This year there will be an unique opportunity for a student to participate in AMASE. The selected student can propose his/her own experiment or simply observe and assist the other experimenters, and ESA expects the student to write a daily blog (or diary) for the English ESA website.
Within the first two weeks of April, 2007 all students that have submitted an application for EuMAS and for Erasmus Mundus grants will be notified by e-mail the status of their application
On March 2-4, 2007 a meeting has taken place in Munich with the specific aim to launch the EuMAS Alumni Association.
Admissions to EuMAS 2007 will remain open until June, 15, 2007, at 22:00 CET. Applications for Erasmus Mundus grants are closed for this year. In order to apply you have to download the application form and follow carefully the instructions.
The Erasmus Mundus Master Courses Seminar 2006 : 'developing a common identity ' took place on 30 November - 1 December 2006, in Brussels. The event has been a success particularly in terms of participation, networking and exchange of experiences on the management of the Erasmus Mundus Master Courses and further promoting third country higher education co-operation.
EuMAS students, class 2006-now in Munich, were invited to a live call with ESA astronaut Thomas Reiter on board the International Space Station (ISS).
